How To Do Dark Mode On Gamepigeon
Recently I was playing a Windows 10 game for the Microsoft Store, which typically run in Universal Windows Platform (UWP) windowed-mode containers, but I wanted a way to easily switch the game. Ankama Games released a new trailer for Wakfu. Wakfu is the next MMORPG from the makers of DOFUS and is free-to-play. The game has been in open beta for two months and those interested can visit.
In honor of next year's release of Space Jam: A New Legacy, Xbox will be developing a new game based on the film, and Microsoft is looking for fans to submit their ideas as part of an all-new contest! From now through December 30th, fans can select what genre they'd like to see for a Space Jam game, and submit a short essay of about 500 words with their best pitch. The game will release in 2021 on Xbox Game Pass, and two lucky winners will see their concepts brought to life by the publisher. They will also receive the following perks:
- An exclusive winner’s bundle with signed and authenticated LeBron James memorabilia
- A personalized Xbox Series S console
- A virtual Microsoft coding workshop for their local community.
The official website for the contest has a number of pre-selected genres for players to choose between, including Action+Rhythm, Puzzle+Platformer, Action+Shooter, Adventure+Tactics, and more. Each genre has an accompanying screenshot, giving the entrant an idea of what Microsoft might have planned, but this is a really cool opportunity for players to have an impact on the game before it gets released. For those that are interested in learning more about the video game development process, the coding workshop could even help them on a path to a future career. As far as the game ideas themselves are concerned, Microsoft says 'the loonier, the better!' It certainly seems like entrants will have quite a bit of creative freedom!

Released in 1996, the original Space Jam holds a special place in the hearts of a number of fans. The original film saw Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes teaming up in a basketball game against the Monstars, a team of aliens that had stolen the abilities of a number of famous NBA players of the era. This time around, the sequel unites characters like Bugs, Daffy, and Lola with Lebron James.
Contest entrants must be 14 years of age or older. Complete rules for entry can be found right here.

The feathers of feral pigeons can range in color from pure white to a dark, dark pigment—although you wouldn't necessarily know that, if your experience with pigeons is limited to city birds, like the ones poking around Central Park. In cities, pigeons tend to be darker, and, according to a new study, that's probably not a coincidence. In cities, dark pigeons' melanin might give them an edge, performing double-duty by helping the birds rid themselves of chemical toxins, reports ScienceNOW.
Melanin is responsible for pigmentation, and the darker a bird (or person, or any other animal), the more melanin they have. Melanin also conveniently binds to metals, such as lead, ScienceNOW explains. In theory, melanin would bind to heavy metals that make their way into the birds' bloodstream through food or water, and then remove those metals as the melanin forms and grows into new feathers.
To test whether or not this hypothetical explanation is plausible, researchers caught around 100 pigeons living in Paris. (Parisian pigeons are certainly carrying their weight as scientific subjects: dark pigeons from the city have previously been shown to have superior immune systems and better defenses against parasites.) The scientists kept the birds in cages for a year and took feather samples when the animals were first captured and at the end of their time in captivity.
They measured the feathers for zinc levels, ScienceNOW reports, and found that those levels dropped by nearly 30 percent. They also found that the darker pigeons had significantly higher levels of zinc in their feathers than the lighter birds. 'That suggests that when fed the same diet and housed under the same conditions, darker birds remove more zinc—and possibly other noxious heavy metals—from their bloodstream than light-colored birds do,' ScienceNOW writes.

To really solidify this hypothesis, however, the team will have to perform tests that take into account heavy metal levels in the birds' blood as well as in their feathers, ScienceNOW adds.
